In 2010, police are requested to perform a welfare check on Evan Cole, who hadn't shown up for work. He wasn't answering his phone and for some as routine as Evan, this was highly unusual. When police enter the apartment all they find is a Duffle Bag.

In Part One, Billy walks Carley through a reconstructed version of Evan’s final hours, laying out the timeline, and relationships. No conclusions. No clear suspect. Just fragments of truth, shifting perspectives, and details that may—or may not—matter.
